Cub Scouts: Cub visit to WINGS 2009 – updated details

WINGS 2009 takes place in Windsor Great Park between 1 – 8 August and eight of our Cubs will be visiting this international gathering of Scouts & Guides on 5 August 2009.

We’ll meet at Finchampstead Memorial Hall at 4.30pm and travel together to arrive at WINGS for 5.30pm.  The evening will end at 8.30pm and Cubs will then be transported back to the Memorial Hall car park, to arrive at approximately 9.15/9.30pm.

The plan for the evening is for everyone to have lots of fun! We’ll be taking part in the organised activities and eating our tea with Scouts & Guides from other countries (meal is provided).

When we arrive there will be a loud welcome celebration so the Cubs might like to bring something small with them that makes a noise – e.g. a whistle or a rattle.  (This is only a suggestion, not compulsory!)

There will be a shop on site – so a small amount of pocket money might be useful if they want to buy a souvenir – don’t forget though, that every Cub attending will be given a ‘goody bag’.

All Cubs should be in activity uniform and wearing their red Finchampstead scarf. If it is wet/cold, please make sure they also have a waterproof/jumper.  If it is a warm evening, then Cubs might like to have a bottle of water with them.  Don’t forget suncream and sunhats too, if appropriate.

A pen/pencil and paper would be useful to collect signatures and messages from all the new Scouting friends they’ll meet.

If you have registered to attend this event, please download and complete the activity permission form and hand it in at this week’s meeting if at all possible.

Please contact Mang (Anne Mitchell) if you have any further questions.
