The group has registered for Sainsbury's Active Kids – http://www.sainsburys.co.uk/activekids – so get collecting those vouchers now. We can convert them into equipment, camping and activity gear so that we can do even more. Please pass all the vouchers you collect to Nancy or into the box in Finchbase kitchen.
Planning is already in progress for our 2007 Summer Camp and we need your company and enthusiasm to make this another memorable Finch venture.

This Summer we are heading in a north westerly direction to the mountains of the Lake District. Basic details at the moment are as follows:
As you already know from Troop meetings, we are intending to run a number of teams in this year’s Three Towers Hike, to be held on Saturday 17th March. Full details are on the Three Towers web site. There will also be teams from the Explorer Scouts, and even the Leaders are attempting to see if they can manage to make their way around.
We will be running training for the Three Towers on the days below. Please ask Simon (sl@1finch.org.uk) if you don’t know the arrangements for any individual training day.
During our Centenary Year, the Group has a very busy programme that goes across all sections.
The main outline of all these events is below. Watch out for more news of all of them some time very soon.
Congratulations to Matthew Hillman of Badgers pack who came 3rd in the Berkshire County Cub Scout Chess Competition last Saturday (11th November). He qualified for the County competition by coming 2nd in the District Chess Competition (which we hosted in October).
Both the Cub Scouts and the Scouts are entering the Wokingham Winter Carnival parade this year with separate entries.

Over the next few weeks we are working like mad to create all the props, decorations and costumes for the day. All these activities will count towards the Creative Challenge for both Cubs and Scouts.
Badgers and Leopards are joining together to enter a float in the Wokingham Winter Carnival on Sunday 26th November. Any help you can provide will be welcome. We need to decorate a lorry on the theme Pirates of Finchampstead – we will be trying to turn our lorry into a Treasure Island. Badgers meetings on the 15th and 22nd November will be used for this. Leopards need to check with their Leaders for information.
For the Cubs we need Bandanas, face painted gruesome scars, large old adult shirts to go over outdoor clothing (these will be torn and stained with 'blood'), cutlasses, pirate style hats. Card and foil to make weapons. Lots of green card or plastic to create a 'jungle effect' If you can povide anything, please bring down to next Cub meeting. Please also advise if your son is available to take part in Carnival on 26th November. Parade is in the afternoon but help will be required in the morning.
Any questions or offers of help, please contact Nancy on 0118 9730863.
