Scouts

Scouts are aged between 10 1/2 and 14 years old. Each Troop is divided into smaller groups called Patrols, led by a Patrol Leader, and they wear green uniform shirts.

Outdoor activities feature prominently, with the highlight being camping. Throughout the year, Scouts learn various skills, such as map reading, camp cooking and first aid in preparation for camp. Rock climbing, potholing, photography and international experiences, such as going to Kandersteg, are some of the things they get up to.

Scouts in this section work towards achieving their Chief Scout’s Gold badge.

The Scout Association has produced a guide for parents, which you can download here: A Parent’s Guide to Scouts.
