BE VERY PROUD of your achievements at the weekend –
fabulous Finchampstead Scouts and Wokingham Explorer results (winning
Scout, Scout Plus and Explorer events with two new course records). In
fact our teams came 1st, 5th and 12th in the Scout, 1st in Scout Plus
and 1st, 3rd and 4th in Explorer. Our adults did us proud too, with 2nd,
3rd and 5th in the Jubilee plus 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th in the Classic.

Statistics worth mentioning:
14 teams entered from Finchampstead – best ever turnout
7 teams finished in top 3
Only one team member forced to retire (Simon Hasler, sore hip after 30+ miles!)
2 new course records (Scout, Scout Plus)
3 out of 5 events won by 1st Finch Scouts and ex-1st Finch Scout Explorers
total of 395 walkers entered in all categories, 10% from Finchampstead!
Almost all  teams finished in the top 5
All teams entered finished in at least the top 1/3 of their competitions
We achieved a first, second or third place in finish in every event
Our all-girl explorer team were only 4 mins outside the girls’ record time
Only one finisher needed oxygen (Ian) 🙂
Our Ladies Jubilee team were the fastest all-girl team, coming second to beat our GSL, Treasurer and our Cub Leader by 12 mins and were only 11 mins behind the all-male winning team
All our 4 Classic teams finished in under 12 hours
Our fastest Classic team beat the 1st Finch record time by 8 mins and would have been fast enough to have won the event in other years
Amber Hasler now has the record as the fastest girl in both Scout and Scout Plus events – lets hope she enters the Explorer event next year 🙂
Chris Ramsey and Dave Judge now hold the record for the fastest finishing pair (Actually Chris beat his own record)
