Fund-Raising: Bag Packing at Sainsbury’s

So just what is bag packing?

 Have
you ever been to a supermarket, and as you get to the checkout there is
somebody standing smiling politely with bags at the ready, and drawing
your attention to the donation bucket? They are a bag packer!

Remembrance Day Parade – Sunday 13th November

The annual Remembrance Day Parade will be during the afternoon of Sunday, 13th November, starting around 2pm.

We
will meet at The Memorial Hall at 2pm – please don’t be late, redy for the parade starting at
2.30pm. We should be back at the memorial hall by about 3.15pm

Cubs: District Cub Scout Chess Tournament – 12th November 2011

1st Finchampstead hosted the Wokingham District Chess Tournament for Cub
Scouts today. Cub Scouts from around the District took part and all had
an enjoyable and hard fought day. The results of the tournament are
below – congratulations to the winners and well done to all those who took part.

The Kandersteg Logbook, 2011

As always, the Scouts kept a log book on our Kandersteg Expedition this summer. Each patrol was asked to write (or draw) their acoount of what the days was like when they were duty patrol.

It’s full of stories, cartoons, pictures and in-jokes. Grown-ups may want to ask the nearest Scout to translate.

Annual General Meeting and Scout report back from Kandersteg

The Annual General Meeting of 1st Finchampstead Scout Group will be held at Finchbase on 29th September 2011, commencing at 7.30pm. The agenda will be available shortly.

There will also be the report back from the Scout sections on their recent fantastic trip to Switzerland.

During Summer camp in Switzerland in August 2011, we sent Twitter messages regularly, which were displayed on the front page of this web site, complete with links to photos and senders. We’ve collected the messages here, so that the log doesn’t disappear with time.
